The Poem In Distress

Once upon a time,

like a woman pines,

A Poem longed for its admirer.

She asked the poet,

like a woman in distress,

if ever she will be worthy of enamour!

My precious,

said the poet,

not all can fathom poetry.

Someday one,

will surely come,

for he will have an eye for beauty.

Your each verse, like her each nerve

With every couplet, with every curve

With your lyric, like a woman’s spirit

With every space, with every gaze

With every rhyme and rhythm,

Like every beat in her bosom

With each repetition,

Like the Divine’s divine articulation,

You will be adored.

All a Poem and a Woman need

is to be understood.

Just like a woman, poetry isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Only those who have a eye for beauty and a mind for depth can understand it.

Just like only a few, blessed ones, can understand a woman’s profound mind, body and spirit.
